Through the desert to Las Vegas. What a bright spark this place is! We didn't get a lot of sleep but we certainly had a great time. We allocated money to play the pokey's with and ended up with around the same amount. We took a look at Caesars Palace had a few margaritas there, we had got the taste for them in Mexico, and went and looked at the White Chapel. While we were there we were asked if we would like to witness a wedding, nobody famous though! Stretched limmo's were pulling up one after the other.

hand of faithFeast your eyes on the largest gold nugget on public display in the world. Imagine finding this treasure with a metal detector. The Hand of Faith was discovered just so, only six inches below the surface standing in a vertical position, on October of 1980. Weighing 875 troy ounces (roughly 61 pounds and 11 ounces), the Hand of Faith was uncovered from Wedderburn, Victoria, Australia and is now on display in the lobby of The Golden Nugget.

The Flamingo Las Vegas is a direct descendant of the hotel where modern Vegas began; even though Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel's original Flamingo is gone, the hotel that bears the name is no less glamorous.

Brothels warrant mention here as Nevada is the only state in the US where prostitution is legal. Prostitution is legal on a county-by-county basis in licensed brothels only. Prostitution is illegal in the counties containing Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City.

North of Las Vegas lies a vast stretch of desert mountains, military land, hidden canyons and quiet wildlife refuges. Running across this lonely countryside is State Route 375, which enterprising locals have dubbed the "Extraterrestrial Highway," after the association these remote hills have gained with UFOs, alien abductions and other paranormal phenomenon.
